Friday and Saturday went by in a blur, so today’s very slow pace is much appreciated. I actually just woke up from a nap! Those times don’t come too often around here, so it almost felt weird waking up and not having to rush to get ready.

This weekend Noah got so much time in with the family. He was such a happy boy throughout a long day at my Aunt’s for her baby shower. Lots of kisses and cuddles filled his day. :)

And at the risk of sounding like a broken record, I really need to start eating better. This weekend was filled with so much food! Yesterday was definitely a day of over indulging in the food department. Not to mention Matt and I took a quick detour to Boiling Crabs and Crawfish before heading home from church today.

I can’t wait until little Kate joins our crazy yet very love-filled family!

I have been doing a good job of fighting the urge to join every box subscription I come across (which is a lot thanks to my dashboard!). Then I came across the above, how cute is this barkbox?!? I just made one dog really happy!

Monday Check In
We woke up to a gloomy and drizzly morning, and literally had to drag ourselves out of bed. My first thoughts were of reason why Matt and I should call off today. Unfortunately the ever growing amount of work on my desk was enough to get me to my desk this morning.
Eh..practicality always seems to win a lot more around here. So my current Monday morning check-in can be described in the picture above..lol. I am very much consuming a giant cup of coffee this morning!

Dang look at mommy eating those chili cheese fries! Oh how I miss living near George’s! 🍴 High-res

Yay it’s Friday! Southern California has graced us with awesome weather today, it is a shame I am wasting it in my windowless office.  Once I get out of here it is BBQ and family time. I am looking forward to a weekend where lots of laziness is involved.

I actually posted on my shared blog with the twin the things I am loving this Friday

Monday Check In

Obsessing over:  Noah’s laugh. It is very contagious!

Working on: Payroll is done, so I really should start on this big stack of paperwork on my desk!

Thinking about: Homework. This class I am in has such time consuming homework. It doesn’t help that my professor is so particular too!

Anticipating: Always the weekend!

Listening to: Pandora: Rascal Flatts

Drinking: On my second cup of coffee!

Wishing: That it was 4PM and I was in PJs already!

Date Weekend Recap

It was our 3 year wedding anniversary last week, and we had yet to really celebrate it. The plan was actually to stay in Palm Springs Friday night, but the thought of not being home by Noah’s bedtime was enough to make me teary-eyed. Yeah apparently I am the big baby.

So mini dates throughout the whole weekend is what happened. We actually still went to Palm Spring for dinner on Friday night. The 45-minute drive was worth it for The Crab Pot. Plus a stop at the Cabazon outlets on the way home was perfect way to walk off all that food we ate. I am officially in love with two Michael Kors purses by the way! My birthday is a little less than a month a way, so I am hoping Matt was paying attention..lol.

We also pretty much overdosed on iced caramel macchiatos this weekend. Two nights in a row someone has done a Starbucks run while the other person puts Noah to bed. Then it Netflix for the rest of the night watching Bones and The Mindy Project. After always looking at the coffee mugs at Starbucks, we finally bought some. The goals is to only do k-cups on the weekdays.

One of the most surprising mini dates was Matt actually agreeing to get a pedicure with me. And while it might not have convince him to do it on a regular basis, at least he is not totally against the idea anymore.

Noah has been a particularly happy baby this weekend. Lots of gibberish and lots of laughing. It took us forever to get to the back of Pier 1 today because he had to charm every single female employee in the place.

image

We ended today with a walk in the park, and we found so many ladybugs in the plants. I told Matt these are probably the only bugs I can help Noah catch given that they are the only ones I would actually hold!

I am sure I would have enjoyed staying overnight in Palm Springs, but for now I think mini dates give me the best of both worlds. :)

Weekend Recap

It was a little hard to be back a work today, given the great weekend we had. Kathleen took care of Noah on Friday, and still managed to cook dinner for the family at her apartment. Apparently all it takes is a large amount of food and The Voice to keep our family happy.

Having lunch on Saturday with Matt’s family meant that it was straight into the pajamas after church yesterday. Mozzie loved his own Easter egg hunt and afternoon naps happened for all of us.

By far our best weekends are spent right at home.

Thursday Happies

This week we have been dealing with the hour from hell every night. For some reason between 6PM to 7PM, this boy is inconsolable. It has been a week where every night ends with Noah finally crying himself to sleep. Whether it be a 10 minute cry, or an hour of off and on crying, it is enough to break anyone’s heart. Monday dinner with the co-workers ended early for me when Noah just could no longer take being out. Yes, I was the lady at the restaurant with the screaming baby. Needless to say and however irrational it might be, my super mom confidence took a beating this week.

Tonight, Noah must have sensed mama’s need for a little confidence boost. We got ready for bed and his eyes slowly drifted shut as we rocked back and forth. No fussing, no crying…just a content boy ready to sleep. We totally skipped the heartbreaking cry session.

Plus I had an early dinner with this girl before Matt and Noah even made it home. Tonight I am just really grateful for sleeping babies + old friends + sushi + and the fact that tomorrow is Friday!
